MARF

NIGERIA
In Nigeria, through our Registered Charity- (MARF) Molokwu Advocacy & Rights Foundation (trading as Injustice Is Real Nigeria), we advocate for individuals whose rights have been violated and who have been denied access to justice. We work closely with the Centre for Justice, Mercy & Reconciliation (CJMR), which refers cases of alleged wrongful conviction to us for advocacy and support.
Our work includes reviewing cases, raising awareness and speaking up where there are concerns that justice has been denied, and working with pro bono lawyers and other legal professionals to explore appropriate legal options, including applications to reopen or appeal cases where appropriate. Our goal is to support efforts to secure justice for individuals who may have been wrongfully convicted or unfairly treated within the justice system.
Our Areas of Focus
Our advocacy focuses on human rights and criminal justice issues, including:
-
Abuse of power and violations of fundamental human rights
-
Police brutality
-
Assault and other forms of violence
-
Unlawful arrest and detention
-
Wrongful convictions and miscarriages of justice
-
Criminal cases involving sexual assault and the defilement of minors
Empowering Grassroots Women
We also deliver empowerment and legal awareness programmes for grassroots women. Through these programmes, we help women to understand their rights, recognise when those rights may have been violated, and identify appropriate reporting and support mechanisms.
Our aim is to empower individuals and communities with the knowledge and confidence to know their rights, recognise injustice and take informed steps towards seeking help and accountability.
